And the Lettuce went kaBOOM

lettuce kaboom1

Stand by for exploding lettuce! It’s the nature of summer growing. One minute they’re tiny seedlings in trays, then they’re planted out, and then, in no time at all, kaBOOM. Beautiful, sweet lettuce.  Everywhere.

Here they go...

Here they go…

Succession, succession...

Succession, succession…

Starting to explode

Starting to explode (cheered on by carrots)

Lettuce front and center, basil tot he right

Lettuce front and center, basil to the right

Same patch one week later - basil in the center (looking the other way)

kaBOOM. The miracle of photosynthesis made flesh. Time to make a very large salad.
